Squares and Double Squares

Oil paintings either in the 12 x 24 or 12 x 12 inch format. The "Double Square;" paintings whose proportions are the equivalent of two squares side by side, were championed by French Barbizon painters in the nineteenth century. Later the format was popularized by van Gogh. The panoramic format of the double square lends itself particularly well to landscape and many of my other reoccurring subjects.
